haridwar- the land of the holy ganga....

This is one place every person should visit. it simply has its charm. i being a non believer never thought that visiting haridwar would ever come in my list of memorable places. we were like always going to dehradun when my mom suddenly came up with a request to halt at haridwar for the night. as it is we were late to carry on our juorney dad obliged and we took a turn to the holy land of vaishnavs. there is something very peculiar about haridwar. you will see a lot of devotees from all sorts of backgrounds... some rich, some foriegners and a lot of poor people. we had to stay in our beloved railway rest house which is always available to dad, so i had the opportunity to realise how comfortably we live. there were hundreds of poor people just lying near the railway station waiting for trains (i guess).
next morning we got up late as usual and decieded to leave the car and go by rickshaw to halkipaudi (im not sure if i spelt it right). instead of that we took the tonga which is a type of a rickshaw with a horse as its driving force. it was fun. the horse was also a very obdient fellow. finally the sight of the river.... it brings overwhelming emotions to oneself. and taking the 'dupki' which is a must when u visit the ganga was litterally, like they say "a holy water bath". the water was damn cold but its all gud once ure in it. nothin can describe the place as seeing it yourself. the saints at almost every corner. the yogis and the beggars.the mais selling flower baskets.the small shops with beads and everything holy.its worth a visit.
we did try to buy some momentos but in vain. all the stuff was too cheap. a local guy tried to scare us with a snake in his hand(i did miss a heartbeat there, but we quickly turned away from that place). mom finally got a lantern to keep a diya.
food might again be a problem for people like us, who would rather not eat than to dine at a filthy place. u must believe me when i say we actually got out of three resturants before having our breakfast. we quickly wrapped our trip during noon as it had started to rain. the road to dehradun was also a pleasure cause it had trees on both sides and made us feel close to nature.

whats up...

hey been a long tym since i wrote something...infact i had actually forgotten bout my blog completely... n when i read some very sweet ( n not so sweet comments) bout my earlier posts... i thought why not give it another shot. I bet you've heard that the worlds a small place, but i still did not expect to get a job in a company which my school friend's are already working for. I had just heard bout their placements a few months back ( infact last year) and wished that i too get something that good when my turn comes (im doing engg so i graduate a year later than my DU friends). And thats what god had planned for me. im still not sure if ill join the company but its great to know that god still listens to earnest prayers. ill advice everyone to pray for whatever they desire in life, you never know what comes true.
what i genuinely do not understand is the level when a person should get satisfied with... what is this level...
whoever reads this blog please mention the level where you'd rather say that "this is it, this is what i wanted to do n now id rather chill or retire"; cause seriously even though im ur last competion i really dont know when to stop n take a backseat to enjoy my life. or is it the struggle which is worth enjoyin like many people say: "its not the destination but the journey that counts". please do enlighten me n in the process think whats ur destination or goal which will make all other things seem petty.
next i would like to know (sorry for asking too many questions) , when do you know its love? lol.. kidding, i know that "you just know it...." . well i have nothing to share with you guys( if there is anyone whose ineterested) right now, ill surely get back whenever i get some weird thoughts bout life n its journey. i guess i too have to slog for my cat preps from now on... see ive tried my level best to avoid it... dat is the reason im so late...
neways take care....

khuda ke liye

hey im just back from this awesome movie "khuda ke liye".it couldnt possibly be described by any other title so aptly. this is a must watch people. it so conviniently tells us a story about a muslim family no way related to those core muslim feeling of "jihad" being traped into this terrible misfortune of being muslim. though it revolves arround the pakistani people being unneccessarily linked to the 9/11 twin tower attack, but we have so much to learn from it. not everybody is bad , just as not everybody is good. religon does not define you, you should define religon. love god but not more than the love of people and truth. dont keep blaming the world around you, try changing it.
music being the way to god has been totally justified.
it wonderfully depicts the way women are treated in afganistan and the likes. men and women have different rules to abide to. they would rather kill the girl than to let her marry outside her religon. its not just their problem. it is ours too....
love mankind and save the world. khuda ke liye....
